2004 Libertyville Lake County Illinois, USA Duluth News-Tribune (MN) - June 29, 2004 Deceased Name: FRIEDA ''CANDY'' PAYMAR A shooting star pierced the heavens with our beautiful
mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. A generous,
spirited woman, loved by those who knew her, is now at peace. Frieda Paymar passed away June 25, 2004 in Libertyville,
Ill. Frieda was born March 23, 1928 in New Orleans to Hannah
and Abraham Finegold. Known by her friends as Candy, she met Mandel ''Gordy''
Paymar at the U.S.O. in New Orleans during WWII and they married in St. Paul
in 1948. After their marriage, Candy and Gordy moved to Duluth and had three
children. Candy worked for Temple Israel, was past president of the Duluth
Chapter of Hadassah and was active in social causes. Candy and Gordy moved to
Southern Calif. in 1978. Candy worked for the Ampex and Xerox corporations.
She was a member of the Temple Judea of Laguna Woods, Calif. She loved
playing bridge, movies, classical music, and spending time with her children
and grandchildren. Candy is survived by her three children who loved her
dearly; Jim Paymar (Diane Masciale) of Rockville Center, N.Y., Michael of St.
Paul, and Leslie (Randy) Shipley of Grayslake, Ill.; sisters Rachel of Van
Nuys, Calif., Esther of Soquel, Calif.; brothers Leo of San Diego, and David,
of Memphis, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. SERVICE:11 a.m. Wednesday, at Temple Israel Synagogue in
Duluth. Burial will be at Temple Emanuel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please
